 1956 Chevrolet 210

Rich Brown III

 350 / .060 Over

750 Holley

Muncie 4sp / 3:23 Rear

15” Cragar SS Wheels

Rich found this car out in the woods along Rt 191, near Honesdale, in ’93, where it had sat for the prior 22 years. Surprisingly, it was quite solid, although not rust free, and had a lot of dents.

This was a total frame – off restoration, with all work done by Rich.  All sheet metal is original, heat – shrinking & leading were used to bring it all back to life. Rich also applied the paint, as you will see in the Build Pics in the album.

The ’56 now belongs to Richard Brown III, who I am sure had helped Dad along the way with the project, and now is able to enjoy the fruits himself.

1966 Ford Fairlane Club Coupe

Ron & Lois Goble

Tunkhannock

289 / Auto

· My father, Richard, purchased this 1966 Ford Fairlane 2-Door Club Coupe new on May 27, 1966. Always a treat to borrow the car, I drove it to school, around town, and any other chance I got. In 1969, dad let me borrow the car to take my high school sweetheart, Lois, to a movie at the Starlight Drive-In in our little hometown of Tunkhannock, PA. That beautiful girl became my wife in July of 1973, and once again, dad let me borrow the car to drive my new bride to Niagara Falls on our honeymoon.
After these and many other family trips, dad gave the car to me on July 27, 1992. It came out of the garage rarely for several years, until 1997 when I began the gradual process of having it restored. I first had family friend Skip Felker reupholster the entire interior to its original carpet, fabric pattern, and color. In March/April of 2008 the transmission and engine were rebuilt by family friend and Ford master mechanic Steve Scranta so that we could escort my daughter and her husband in style on their wedding day. Finally, in February of 2009, a friend and paint wizard Wayne McCain restored the exterior and repainted the car its original color. Along the way, I purchased window seals, and other parts from macsautoparts.com and purchased engine parts with knowledgeable assistance from Tom at Car Quest in
Tunkhannock, PA. My son, Ryan, and I have recently begun showing the beauty off at local car shows.

Before she passed away earlier this year, my wife and I enjoyed taking the Fairlane out on weekend joy rides, and we always turned lots of heads and got great compliments from friendly admirers. I miss her company, but I still enjoy taking the car out and remembering her smile as we cruised. There are a lot of wonderful memories in each of the 122,049 miles that the Fairlane has on it.
